Service Learning: Summer Prep

Filoli’s Service Learning is a chance for the local community to give back to the historic Estate. Volunteers will work with the Filoli Horticulture Team to weed and mulch the Formal Garden and prepare the beds for summer beauty. Learn firsthand from experts on how to choose plants for sustainability, endless color, and ease of care.

Client shall indemnify, defend and hold harmless Filoli, National Trust for Historic Preservation, their employees, contractors and agents, at the Client’s sole expense, from and against any and all claims, actions, losses, damages, fines, taxes, penalties, settlements, attorneys’ fees, cost or other monetary sums which may be incurred by Filoli, arising from, relating to, or in connection with any liability, acts, omissions of Client, Client’s employees, agents, affiliates, or customers, that may arise out of, or related to this Agreement.

Bohème Out of the Box

San Francisco Opera brings La Bohème outdoors with Bohème Out of the Box, a free one-hour performance presented on a traveling container stage.
Service animals are welcome at Filoli. Pets and emotional support animals are not permitted.
Good to know: Your ticket to this performance only provides access to Filoli’s Meadow. Please add a General Admission ticket to your cart if you would like to access the House, Garden, and Trails. The performance will be held in Filoli's Meadow with limited shade. Guests should bring picnic blankets or their own lawn chairs, as well as sun protection. Service Learning: Summer Refresh

Filoli’s Service Learning is a chance for the local community to give back to the historic Estate. Volunteers will work alongside Filoli’s Horticulture Team weeding to prepare the ground for laying mulch, and laying fresh or augmenting existing mulch in cropped areas such as cutting garden, vegetable garden, or dahlias.
Cost: Free; reservation required.
Participants receive free admission to Filoli on the day of the program.

- We are doing contactless check-in for all guests. We will have your reservation on our check-in list so there is no need to print your ticket.
- Admission is for Filoli's Gardens, Estate Trail and limited shopping in the Clock Tower Shop. The historic House is currently closed.
- Please check in at the landing in front of the Visitor Center.
- We ask that all visitors:
- Maintain six feet of distance between household groups
- Wear face coverings while visiting

Service Learning: Trails
April 14, 16, 18 | 9am–12pm
Spend the day outdoors supporting Filoli’s Historic Estate through hands-on Service Learning in its Natural Lands. Set against the Santa Cruz Mountains, these trails welcome thousands of visitors each year. Volunteers will enjoy a guided hike, help clear brush to keep trails safe and accessible, and learn more about Filoli’s landscapes during a talk with our Natural Lands Manager.

Excused Non-Performance (Force Majeure):
1. Filoli assumes no responsibility for any liability that may arise from the use of the property or equipment, or any failure or cancellation of service due to an act of nature, civil unrest, or other cause beyond our reasonable control (including any mechanical, electronic, or communications failure).
Cancellation:
1. Filoli has a graduated cancellation policy, as follows:
a) Cancellation 30+ days prior to the event date: Deposit can be used as a credit toward a future event within 12 months of cancellation.
b) Cancellation less than 30 days prior to the event: Deposit is forfeited.

Service Learning: Preparing for Fall

Filoli’s Service Learning program invites the local community to help care for the historic Estate. Working alongside Filoli’s Horticulture Team, volunteers will take part in meaningful garden projects such as harvesting plant materials for fall displays and donations, weeding to prepare beds, and laying or refreshing mulch in areas like the cutting and vegetable gardens.
